While on the surface, the Marlowe family runs a reputable textile company, secrecy and ill rumors follow its members through the cold streets of Ishgard. And yet its bloodline endures, searching for freedom from the oppressive shroud cast over their name.

For Auriga, the only true freedom from the foreboding parlours and halls of the family estate comes in her own separate enterprise; a humble perfume shop above a goldsmith's store in the Jeweled Crozier of the Holy See of Ishgard, wherein she delights and horrifies the masses in equal measure with monthly seances.

Séance Mistress. Appearing austere and dark, clad in heavy clothing the color of mourning, Auriga hosts monthly séances in her rooms. While her séances are known for their flashy, overblown and theatrical occurrences, the aftermath tends to be a much more subdued affair. Angered at the trend of scam artists preying on the grief and desperation of their clients to make easy gil, Auriga seeks to debunk these events and delights in exposing such secrets after getting her audience worked up.Sense for Scents. You can’t get by on the earnings of theatrical supernatural shows alone. Auriga primarily makes money with the sale of perfumes. Her divination parlor also houses a large collection of perfume bottles, flowers, and jars stuffed with oils and ingredients for their production. The rooms carry a sweet and heady scent, and she’ll happily aid others in finding something that suits them or creating custom scents.Divination. Along with her séances, Auriga offers divination services and various types of readings. While she is never one to suggest that cards or bones should actually steer the path of one's future, she is still happy to interpret the symbolism presented by said readings. She does seem to have a legitimate sort of gift, in the form of a knack for finding things and people.Heresy?. Even with her séances being blatantly fabricated for entertainment, there will always be those who might buy into it a little too much, believing Auriga’s work to have heretical roots. If your character happens to be a particularly fanatical Inquisitor, a gullible patron, or some other figure who would eagerly accuse an entertainer, this could be a good angle to approach.White Owl Textiles. The business which brought the Marlowe family its fortune, White Owl Textiles has served as a steady source of income for several generations. The company specializes in the production of wool and linen, and the trade involved therein. If your character is in need of a purveyor of fine fabrics, perhaps the Marlowes can provide.
